Slow Cooked Chili Recipe

Lots of beans and tomatoes make this a hearty chili recipe. Cumin and chili powder ensure lots of flavor!

Ingredients

* 1 1/2 C. chopped onion
* 1 28 oz. can stewed or diced tomatoes, undrained
* 1 C. chopped green pepper
* 1 tsp. black pepper
* 1 tsp. cumin
* 2 16 oz. cans kidney beans, 1 light, 1 dark, undrained
* 2 garlic cloves finely minced
* 2 lb. ground beef, brown and remove grease
* 2 Tbs. chili powder
* 2 tsp. Salt

Beef and Barley Soup Recipe

We came from Michigan. I made this for my kids when it was cold outside years ago. They still love it today.

Ingredients

1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 C. chopped onion
1 garlic minced
3/4 C. quick barley
5 C. water
1 14 1/2 oz. can diced tomatoes
1/2 C. diced celery
1/2 C. diced carrots
1 can beef broth
1 can mushroom soup
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 tsp. basil, crushed
1 bay leaf
1 Tbs. butter

Pastina Soup Recipe

This is a hearty Italian soup. Serve with bread and it’s a full meal. The recipe was originally from my husband’s Aunt Tina. This can be done on regular stove or crock pot!

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. stew beef, ground beef or italian sausage, browned
1 lb. orzo pasta, half cooked
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 14 oz. can tomatoes
2 boxes or 3 cans beef broth
3 C. water
2 carrots, cut into bite size pieces
2 celery stalks, cut into bite size pieces
1 medium onion roughly chopped
3 medium red or white potatos
1 Tbs. minced or pressed garlic
2 tsp. pepper
Salt to taste

Taco Soup Recipe

This taco soup recipe is quick, easy, economical to prepare and can be simmered in the crock pot or cooked on the stove. I use my crock pot most of the time.

1 1/2 lb. ground meat, cooked and drained
1 can rotel tomatoes
1 can whole kernel corn, undrained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cans chili beans
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips (optional)

Charming Chili Recipes

This recipe was given to me by a friend. Everyone loved it. I especially make it in December when Santa comes to visit. We have a house full of people afterward and the adults and children love it.

Ingredients

1 can cannellini beans
1 can kidney beans
2 lb. chop meat, any mix or kind (chicken, turkey, beef)
1 large can Mexican-style diced tomatoes
1 large can Hunt’s tomato sauce
3 grinds black pepper
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 chili flavor packet, divided
2 orange/yellow peppers, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
8 oz. shredded cheese, garnish
1/2 C. green onions, chopped (garnish)
1 can sliced, pitted black olives (garnish)

1 large onion, chopped (1 C.)
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 C.)
2 medium celery stalks, chopped (1 C.)
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 can (28 oz.) Progresso® diced tomatoes, undrained
2 C. chopped fully cooked smoked sausage
1 Tbs. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. red pepper sauce
3/4 lb. uncooked peeled deveined medium shrimp, thawed if frozen
4 C. hot cooked rice
