Grandma’s Apple Bean Soup Recipe

This unique soup has a sweet flavor from the honey and apples, but is quite savory from the ham, bacon and onions. A fantastic combination just the way Grandma made it.

Ingredients
3 large cans navy beans
1 chopped medium onion
1/2 lb. chopped bacon
1/2 lb. cubed ham
2 tsp. Canola oil
3 tsp. honey
2 Granny Smith apples, cut in rings
1 large can tomato juice
1 tsp. ground mustard
Directions
Mix oil, honey, ground mustard with beans. Add to cooker and then gently stir in the bacon pieces and ham. Add the can of tomato juice. Layer apple rings over the top of everything. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 6 hours. Serve with crusty bread.
