Nancy’s Blue Stew Recipe

Try this out - it’s delicious. Years ago, I added food coloring to my stew in place of what I now use (Gravy Master) and it came out blue! Hence, the name blue stew!

Ingredients
1 lb. beef stew meat, cut up
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 packet dry stew seasonings mix
4-5 potatoes, peeled and cut up
3 onions, peeled
1/2 bag miniature peeled carrots
1-2 C. water
1 Tbs. cornstarch
1 tsp. Gravy Master (or other concentrated spice blend)
Directions
Place cut up beef stew meat i bottom of crockpot. Add packets of the onion soup mix and stew seasoning mix and 1 cup of water. Cook on high for 4 hours. Next, add cut up potatoes, onions and carrots and more water to cover up vegetables. Cook for 2 more hours on high. Make a mixture of 1 Tbs. corn starch, 1 tsp. Gravy Master and 1/2 C. water and add to stew to thicken. Put crockpot on low for last hour of cooking.
